Structured Cabling

Structured Cabling

Cat6 and fibre cabling for dependable infrastructure

Build a physical network that is ready for everyday use and future change. Fluid Infrastructure Services provides structured cabling solutions using Cat6 copper and fibre for workplaces, network equipment and building systems.

Why this matters

A cabling project needs more than a count of outlets. We consider where connections are needed, how cables will be routed, the equipment they will serve and the records your team needs after installation.

How we can help

The proposal defines the work, deliverables and responsibilities for your project.

Cat6 copper cabling

Connections for workstations, wireless access points, IP cameras and other network devices, designed around the application.

Fibre cabling

Backbone links between cabinets, floors or buildings, with fibre type and equipment compatibility defined in the design.

Cabinets and patching

Plan cabinet layouts, patch panels, labelling and cable organisation as part of the agreed scope.

Testing and records

Agree the testing requirements, outlet identification and handover documentation before installation.

Moves and changes

Scope additional outlets, office changes and upgrades alongside existing infrastructure.

Excel structured cabling

We specify the cabling system as a complete installation, from outlets and patching to fibre backbones and cabinets, with testing and records agreed before work starts.

Excel Networking

Excel

Excel Networking offers copper, fibre and rack systems for business infrastructure. Fluid can plan Cat6 and Cat6A links alongside single-mode or multimode fibre, selecting components around distance, performance and the installation environment.

  • Copper cable, outlets and patch panels matched to the agreed Cat6 or Cat6A specification.
  • Fibre backbone links, termination and patching for connections between floors, cabinets or buildings.
  • Cabinets, cable management, labelling and an agreed programme of link testing and handover.

Our approach

We survey the premises and confirm outlet locations, routes, access and equipment needs. The proposal defines cable types, installation scope and testing. Delivery is coordinated with the building works where applicable, followed by labelling, testing and an agreed handover.

A clear cabling handover

Your proposal sets out cable types, outlet and link locations, routes, installation arrangements and testing requirements.

  • Consistent outlet and link identification.
  • Agreed test results and installation records.
  • Patch panel and cabinet information.
  • Defined acceptance and applicable product terms.

Common questions

Useful starting points before we discuss your project.

Do we need Cat6, Cat6A or fibre?

The choice depends on application speed, distance, the installation environment and future requirements. We explain the options before you commit to a specification.

Can you cable an occupied building?

The survey identifies working-area access and disruption risks. Working arrangements and any out-of-hours requirements are agreed in the proposal.
