Independent IT infrastructure and support for a growing clinic
A complete infrastructure plan and service management approach helped Bourn Hall centralise clinical IT operations after becoming an independent business.
- Operational IT following separation from a parent company
- Independent infrastructure
- Booking, patient data, email and shared applications
- Centralised systems
- Implementation, management and day-to-day support
- One service approach
The Client
Bourn Hall is an IVF clinical organisation with sites across the East of England. Following separation from its former parent, Serono, and a management takeover, it needed an independent approach to its operational IT.
The Challenge
The clinic had previously relied on its parent’s infrastructure and several service providers. A complete environment needed to be designed, agreed and installed while allowing flexibility for change and growth.
The brief combined cost control with security, continuity and the ability to share systems across clinic locations.
Our Delivery
Consultancy and planning
Fluid proposed an implementation plan covering operational requirements, IT consultancy and service management against a pre-agreed budget.
Infrastructure delivery
Servers, storage, networking, security and application platforms were brought together into a coordinated environment.
Centralised clinic services
The investment enabled centralised IT operations, including an online booking system, patient data, email and applications shared across sites.
Day-to-day service management
Fluid’s delivery approach included management, support and operation of the IT systems, with capacity for subsequent development.
The Results
Bourn Hall gained a central approach to IT across its clinics, with specialist infrastructure knowledge and service management delivered through one provider.
The published account describes reduced reliance on multiple providers and access to specialist knowledge, technology and purchasing support as new systems were introduced.
The base infrastructure and support approach were designed to accommodate further growth and development.
